This relaxed coastal style is named for the coastal area and villages of southern Long Island in New York and its architectural roots come out of the classical styles but it is also related to the more contemporary English arts and craft and American shingle style traditions.  A light colored slate roof and stained cedar shake siding; light and bright is the driving influence for this home and makes it fit perfectly with the current design trends in the U.S.
